Clearstream achieves high performance pricing using GAIN Portfolio Pricing

Clearstream uses GAIN Portfolio Pricing to manage the daily pricing of over one million securities, integrating more than ten pricing sources.

Clearstream, the International Central Securities Depository (ICSD) and part of the German Stock Exchange Group, provides post-trade infrastructure and securities services for the international market and 56 domestic markets worldwide, with 2,500 customers in 110 countries.

With increasing levels of market volatility, Clearstream needed to improve the timeliness, coverage and quality of its pricing data by implementing a centralized data management solution. It was important that the new data hub could be swiftly and seamlessly integrated within the existing system environment.

The decision for AIM Software’s* GAIN Golden Copy solution followed a comparative analysis of proven data management suites on the market. Clearstream chose GAIN for its broad connectivity  and its strong rule framework as well as the quick implementation time.

Following the definition of the required business logic, the project went live after only seven months.

Building on GAIN’s rule framework with flexible ranking functionalities, Clearstream was able to implement a comprehensive pricing logic related to the selection and validation of instrument prices. The pricing logic implemented on the basis of the GAIN Rule Engine, features an improved price source classification based on dynamic rules.

The performance of the platform allows Clearstream to onboard further instruments for centralized pricing in GAIN. With GAIN Portfolio Pricing, Clearstream achieved increased pricing coverage, while at the same time significantly improving operational efficiency.

We were looking for a proven pricing master with comprehensive business logic and a connectivity to a wide range of data feeds. The state of the art GAIN Portfolio Pricing platform meets our current needs and gives us the flexibility we need for the future.Head of Custody and Reference Data Products , Clearstream
